Hey everyone, it's Gabriela Martinez here – or Gabby, as my friends call me. I'm the 23-year-old Co-Founder and CEO of Tekcesta LLC, and if you told me a few months ago that I'd be starting a tech company, I'd have laughed. I'm not some big business whiz; I've spent my time working hands-on jobs like being a pharmacy tech at Walgreens, helping with dental procedures as an intern, and even serving meals at a senior living facility. But that's exactly where my passion for helping people started, and it's what led me to this wild idea for Tekcesta. Let me take you back to how it all began – it's a story that starts with late-night TikTok scrolling and ends with a mission to make AI work for everyday heroes in healthcare and beyond.It was just a regular evening, chilling on my phone, watching these super relaxing TikTok videos with ASMR sounds – you know, those whispery, tingly effects that make you zone out? A lot of them were using AI to create cool edits, like generating voices or backgrounds out of nowhere. I thought it was fun at first, but then I started wondering: if AI can make silly videos look pro, what else could it do? That's when I chatted with Benjamin, one of my mentors. We got into this deep convo about how AI isn't just for entertainment – it could change the world in huge ways.Benjamin broke it down for me: AI is great at spotting patterns that us humans might miss, like finding that tiny but super important "signal of truth" in a ton of noisy data. He said things like, "Imagine AI curing diseases by analyzing millions of medical records, or discovering new drugs and even metals by predicting how molecules behave." It blew my mind! And then he shared his own story, which hit close to home because of my healthcare background. Benjamin had lab results showing he was iron deficient – basically, his body wasn't getting enough iron, which can make you super tired and affect your health. But two different doctor's offices totally missed it! It wasn't until the third doctor looked closer and ordered more tests that it got confirmed. How does that happen? We talked about how busy doctors are, juggling so many patients, and sometimes those key details slip through.That's when the lightbulb went off for us: What if AI could screen all incoming lab results automatically? It could flag weird combinations of "out of range" tests – like if your iron levels are low but other stuff looks off too – and alert the doctor right away. No more waiting or oversights; just a quick heads-up to catch things early. And this isn't just one random idea – at Tekcesta, we've talked about tons of examples like this. From helping lawyers review case files without leaking sensitive info, to optimizing staffing in local governments, AI can handle the heavy lifting on proprietary data while keeping everything private and compliant (that's where rules like HIPAA come in, which protect patient info – something I learned a lot about in my pharmacy work).Honestly, I'm still growing into this CEO role. I came up with the spark for Tekcesta, but Benjamin and Terri were already working on something similar in tech and nonprofits. When I shared my thoughts, it clicked – we shifted focus to build these turn-key AI appliances that let small businesses and governments run AI securely on their own hardware, with optional cloud help for the non-sensitive stuff. They're mentoring me every step, sharing their wisdom from years of building organizations and collaborating with governments. As a Hispanic American woman jumping into tech, I'm excited to show that anyone with a good idea and some real-world grit can make waves. FedRAMP Basics for Secure AI Deployments
